I have seen this working but never set it up.
Mainstage external midi clock.
Only smf standard midi file types 0 and 1 are supported.
Mainstage uses midi beat clock to send the tempo of a patch to external devices and programs.
The midi file is sent immediately to the port selected on the external instrument channel strip.
Midi clock from external devices is again passed through as expected.
If midi messages mainstage receives do not include midi clock information mainstage uses the concert tempo setting and changes the tempo when you select a patch or a set with its own tempo setting or tap a new tempo.
50 videos play all mix mainstage.
It is again possible to set an aggregate device as mainstage s input device when the output device is set to a something different.
Another way is to send a click from mainstage.
Usually in a mainstage world we are more concerned with changing tempos rather than absolute time.
You will need an audio interface with more than 2 outputs to able to run left right click.
When the get tempo from midi input checkbox is selected the tempo slider is dimmed and cannot be edited.
Sync mainstage 3 to an external tempo and transport source.
The midi file is re sent when you change patches just like the other options in the channel strip inspector such as program change or midi clock messages.
Or if you want control external midi equipment from mainstage.
You can send midi clock to an external click track from mainstage but the drummer would have to use a metronome device that accepts midi.
